What duration are your skip hires?
All of our skip hires are 4 days.
Can I put everything into a general skip?
- Unfortunately, no, our general skips don’t allow for some types of commercial waste. You won’t be able to include concrete, clay, bricks, soil, liquids like paint or oil, tyres or asbestos. Asbestos in particular could lead to significant fines of $3,000 or more (depending on weight). Any fines are passed onto the customer. If you aren’t sure if the fibrolite you are wanting to put in the bin has asbestos, we’d recommend not putting it in.
- We do encourage you to put any house waste and gardening waste into our general skips. That general waste can be mixed in together. Some building waste can be placed in our general skips, excluding the items mentioned above. If you are dubious about anything you want to put in the skip, don’t hesitate to contact us to clarify.
What is hard fill?
Our hard fill skips can only be filled with is soil, concrete, bricks, clay, rocks and tiles. You cannot place general rubbish into a hard fill bin – and if you do, you risk an expensive bill as you’ll be billed by weight. ONLY include the above items in a hardfill bin.
What is the deal with weight limits on bins?
Landfills will charge us based on the weight of the bin, so we have put in place weight limits on our bins. Each bin size has it’s own weight limit, so make sure you understand that when hiring. If you are not sure about the weight of your waste, we’d recommend going up a bin size just to be safe. Should you go over the weight limit, we will invoice you for the additional cost we incur.
